Radio Nacional de Venezuela (RNV) is the official radio station of the Venezuelan state, founded on July 29, 1936 by presidential decree of Eleazar López Contreras. It began broadcasting in December of that year from the Miraflores Palace. RNV is part of the Bolivarian Communication and Information System and has the largest coverage of any radio network in Venezuela.
The station's headquarters are located in Pedregal de Chapellín, Caracas. RNV broadcasts on multiple frequencies, including 630 kHz AM and 90.5 FM in the central region. Its programming includes news, cultural shows, music, and government-aligned content.
RNV has undergone several changes throughout its history. In 1987, it became an autonomous service under the Central Information Office. Since 2002, it has been under the Ministry of Communication and Information. The station has expanded its frequencies across Venezuela in recent years.
Current programming includes shows like "Debate de ideas", "Venezuela en vivo", "Mundo alternativo", and "La hojilla". RNV aims to provide information and content aligned with the Venezuelan government's perspective.
