JAZZ.FM91 (CJRT-FM) is Canada's only 24/7 jazz radio broadcaster and listener-supported charitable organization based in Toronto, Ontario. The station began in 1949 as CJRT-FM at Toronto Metropolitan University (then Ryerson Institute of Technology) to train broadcast students. In 1974, it became an independent non-profit organization.
In 2001, the station switched to an all-jazz format and rebranded as JAZZ.FM91. Today, it offers a diverse range of jazz programming, including contemporary, traditional, and specialty shows. The station is committed to entertaining, inspiring, and uniting the local and global jazz community through music, live performances, education, and storytelling.
JAZZ.FM91 provides youth programs, workshops, internships, and scholarships in partnership with educational institutions. Notable initiatives include Jazzology, Jazz 4 Kids, and the JAZZ.FM91 Youth Big Band.
