Radio Oriental (CX 12) is one of the oldest radio stations in Uruguay, broadcasting on 770 AM from Montevideo. Founded in 1928, it is currently owned by the Archdiocese of Montevideo and focuses on Catholic programming as well as news, sports, and entertainment. The station's slogan is "Lo que siente mi país" (What my country feels).
Radio Oriental's programming includes religious content, news broadcasts, sports coverage (especially football), and cultural shows. Some of its notable programs are "Entre Todos", "Hora 25 de Los Deportes", and "Alas Para El Folklore". The station also broadcasts Catholic masses and spiritual content.
With a powerful 100 kW transmitter, Radio Oriental can be heard throughout Uruguay and in parts of neighboring countries. It maintains a traditional AM radio format while also offering online streaming to reach a wider audience in the digital age.
