Shonan Beach FM is a radio station based in Zushi, Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan. Established on December 3, 1993, it was one of the first community radio stations in the Kanto region. Broadcasting on 78.9 MHz, the station primarily features jazz music, along with R&B, big band, Hawaiian, and classical selections.
The station aims to serve as a local media outlet for Zushi and Hayama while also covering the broader Shonan area as a "stylish broadcaster". Its programming includes local news, weather forecasts, and community information interspersed with music blocks throughout the day.
Key shows in Shonan Beach FM's schedule include "Hot! Shonan" which delivers local town information, "Shonan Memory Lane" featuring nostalgic oldies, and evening programs like "Jazz After Dark" and "Midnight Jazz". The station also hosts live jazz performances through its "Shonan Jazz by the Sea" events.
In addition to FM broadcasting, Shonan Beach FM streams its content online and provides a live webcam view of Sagami Bay from its website. The station celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2023 with a special live performance.
