Radio FM1 is a popular Swiss private radio station based in St. Gallen. Founded in 2008 through the merger of Radio Ri and Radio Aktuell, it has become one of the most listened-to private radio stations in Switzerland. FM1 broadcasts a Hot AC format, targeting listeners between 20 and 45 years old with a mix of current hits and popular music.
The station covers news, weather, and traffic for eastern Switzerland, including the cantons of St. Gallen, Appenzell, parts of Graubünden, Thurgau, and Zürich. FM1's flagship morning show, "FM1 Wachmacher," has been recognized as the most-listened-to morning show among Swiss private radio stations.
In addition to its main broadcast, FM1 offers several digital music channels and operates FM1Today, a regional online news portal. The station is part of CH Media, a joint venture between NZZ-Mediengruppe and AZ Medien, which took ownership in 2018.
