Monte Carlo Doualiya (MCD), formerly known as RMC Moyen-Orient, is a French public radio service that broadcasts across the Arab world. Founded in 1972, it is part of France Médias Monde, the French state-owned holding company. MCD produces Arabic-language programs in Paris and broadcasts 24 hours a day to audiences in the Middle East and Maghreb via FM transmitters, shortwave, satellite, and its website.
The station originated from the French government's desire to create an international pan-Arab radio station in the late 1960s. It initially leveraged the reputation of Radio Monte-Carlo in the Mediterranean basin. In 2007, it changed its name from RMC Moyen-Orient to Monte Carlo Doualiya.
MCD offers news, cultural programs, and interactive shows in Arabic, aiming to provide a French perspective on international events to Arab audiences. Its programming includes news bulletins, political analysis, cultural features, and interactive shows that encourage listener participation.
As part of France Médias Monde, Monte Carlo Doualiya plays a significant role in France's international broadcasting strategy, alongside Radio France Internationale (RFI) and France 24.
