Middle East Radio (إذاعة الشرق الأوسط) is a multilingual Canadian radio station broadcasting in Montreal, Quebec. Established in 1996, it primarily serves the Arab and Middle Eastern communities in the Greater Montreal area. The station broadcasts on 1450 kHz AM and is retransmitted at 104.5 MHz FM.
The main programming is in Arabic, catering to various Arab communities including Lebanese, Syrian, Egyptian, and Maghrebi dialects. CHOU also features a weekly two-hour show in Armenian. The station covers local, artistic, and religious events for many Middle Eastern and North African communities in Quebec and Canada.
In 2007, CHOU received approval from the CRTC to broadcast on the AM frequency, significantly increasing its listenership. The station expanded its reach in 2016 with the launch of an FM retransmitter in Montreal.
