Futurock FM is an internet radio station based in Buenos Aires, Argentina that began broadcasting on July 4, 2016. It features a critical, humorous, politicized and markedly feminist discourse, with its main audience composed of young people between 18 and 35 years old. The station broadcasts live programming Monday to Friday from 7 AM to 1:30 AM, Saturdays from 9 AM to 6 PM, and Sundays from 10 AM to 8 PM, with repeats and music filling out the 24-hour daily schedule.
Futurock was created in 2016 after changes were made to the programming of Radio Nacional Rock, with some of the former hosts deciding to start a new internet-only station to maintain similar content. The station is primarily supported financially by a community of listeners who make monthly donations, allowing it to remain independent from commercial brands and advertising.
Its current programming includes news and current affairs shows like "Ahora Dicen" and "Crónica Anunciada", as well as cultural programs like "La Hora Animada" focused on music. Notable hosts include Julia Mengolini, Malena Pichot, and Juan Amorín among others. Futurock has expanded beyond radio to produce podcasts, books, music festivals and live events for its audience.
