RDP África is a Portuguese radio station owned and operated by Rádio e Televisão de Portugal (RTP). It broadcasts to Portuguese-speaking African countries, focusing on African music, news, sports, and culture. The station was launched on January 7, 1998, as a successor to RDP Internacional's African service.
RDP África broadcasts 24 hours a day on FM in major Portuguese cities and in Cape Verde, Guinea-Bissau, São Tomé and Príncipe, and Mozambique. Its programming includes African and Portuguese music, news updates, sports coverage (especially Portuguese football), and cultural shows.
Key programs include "Bom Dia África" (morning show), "Repórter África" (news), and music shows featuring lusophone African artists. The station aims to serve as a bridge between Portugal and African Portuguese-speaking communities, promoting cultural exchange and providing independent news coverage.
