Heart UK is a national digital radio station owned and operated by Global, broadcasting from studios in London's Leicester Square. Launched in 2016 as Heart Extra, it was rebranded to Heart UK in 2020. The station offers a mix of contemporary hit music and feel-good classics, targeting adult listeners aged 25-44.
As part of the wider Heart network, Heart UK shares much of its programming with its local sister stations. Key shows include the national breakfast show hosted by Jamie Theakston and Amanda Holden, which attracts millions of listeners weekly. Other popular segments include Heart's Club Classics and various themed decade-specific programming.
Heart UK is available across the United Kingdom via DAB digital radio, online streaming, and smart speakers. During the festive season, the station transforms into Heart Xmas, playing non-stop Christmas music from late September through December.
The station forms part of Global's strategy to expand the Heart brand nationally, complementing its network of local Heart stations and decade-specific digital offshoots like Heart 70s, 80s, and 90s.
