Capital FM is an English-language radio station broadcasting from Kampala, Uganda on 91.3 MHz. Launched in December 1993, it was one of the first private FM stations in the country following the liberalization of the airwaves. The station covers most of Uganda and parts of neighboring countries, also streaming online globally.
Capital FM features a mix of music, news, and talk programming aimed at an urban audience. Popular shows include the morning "Big Breakfast", the midday "AM-PM Show", and the evening "Overdrive". The station is known for playing contemporary hits and urban music.
Over the years, Capital FM has helped launch the careers of many prominent Ugandan radio personalities. It remains one of the most listened to English-language stations in Uganda, particularly among young professionals and the middle class in Kampala and other major towns.
