SLBC Tamil National Service is the Tamil-language radio channel of the Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation (SLBC), the national public broadcaster of Sri Lanka. Launched in 1967 when SLBC was established as a public corporation, it broadcasts on FM 102.1 and 102.3 MHz from Colombo. The station provides news, information, entertainment and cultural programming in Tamil for Sri Lankan Tamil listeners. As part of the state broadcaster, it plays an important role in disseminating government information and public service announcements. SLBC Tamil National Service aims to preserve and promote Tamil language and culture through its diverse programming, which includes news bulletins, talk shows, music programs and dramas.
