BBC Hausa

BBC Hausa is the Hausa-language service of the BBC World Service, primarily serving Hausa-speaking communities in Nigeria, Ghana, Niger and across West Africa. Launched on March 13, 1957, it was the BBC's first African language service. The service includes radio broadcasts, a website with news and analysis in text, audio and video formats, and a bureau office in Abuja, Nigeria.
BBC Hausa radio reaches around 17.7 million listeners weekly. Its programming includes news bulletins, current affairs shows, sports coverage, and business news. Popular programs include:

The service is broadcast from London with preliminary editing done at the Abuja bureau. Many BBC Hausa programs are also rebroadcast by partner radio stations across Nigeria.
